DinkingBuds Player Conduct Rules (DRAFT: not yet reviewed by counsel)
Also included as Terms of Service §7.
These rules apply whenever you book a court, join a public game, enroll
in coaching, or register for a tournament or league through DinkingBuds.
1. Show up, or cancel properly
If you can't make a booking, cancel it in the app as early as possible.
See 03-cancellation-refund-terms.md for what refund you're entitled
to depending on timing. Simply not showing up doesn't refund you and
affects your attendance record (see §2).
2. Attendance and reliability
DinkingBuds tracks whether you attended games and clinics you joined,
and whether you no-showed. **This record is visible only to the venue
staff you've played with. It is never shown to other players and is
not published as a public score or ranking.** Repeated no-shows may
affect a venue's willingness to let you join their open games, at that
venue's discretion.
3. Removal from games
A host or venue staff can remove a player from a game or clinic for
cause. Every removal requires a stated reason and is logged in the
game's audit trail. A removed player cannot rejoin that same game.
4. Tournament and league conduct
- Bracket assignments and match results, once a downstream match has
started, are locked. Corrections happen only through an audited
director override with a stated reason, never a silent edit.
- [⚖ Standard sportsmanship / code-of-conduct language (forfeits,
disqualification for misconduct, etc.), to be drafted with input from
how Russ actually wants tournaments/leagues officiated; this is a
business/product decision as much as a legal one.]
5. Respect for other players and venue staff
[⚖ Standard harassment/abuse policy and consequences. Account
suspension mechanism already exists at the platform-admin level
(reversible, logged, no data deletion) and can enforce this once the
policy itself is written.]
6. Payments
Never send money to another player or claim a payment was made without
actually sending it. See the Marketplace Disclaimer for how payment
verification works. Falsely claiming a payment is a conduct violation
and may result in account suspension.
7. Consequences
Violating these rules may result in removal from a specific game/event,
or account suspension by a DinkingBuds platform administrator. Suspension
is reversible and always logged; it is not account deletion.
